This commitment to American youth and international cooperation has firmly established PBCC as one of the most successful boy-choirs in America and, perhaps, the world. PBCC provides a well-rounded program that includes two to three rehearsals each week, an extensive concert schedule, and an illustrious international touring program. PBCC has trained thousands of young boys to achieve a high standard of artistic excellence, but more importantly, has shaped the lives of its boys by instilling strength of character, self-discipline, and focus.
A favorite of Good Morning America, the Philadelphia Boys Choirs has performed live on the nationally syndicated program for several years during the Holiday season. The performing choir comprises of about 80 boys and performs about 50 concerts a year. Last summer, the Choir performed in China at the Forbidden City Concert Hall, Oriental Arts Center in Shanghai, the World Expo, and Tanjian Concert Hall. The Choir was recently invited to perform a full concert at the prestigious Festspiele Mecklenburg-Vorpommern in Germany with the greatest boy-choirs of the world including Vienna, Leipzig, Tölzer, Oxford, and Poznan. The same year, the Granada Festival for Music and Dance in Spain highlighted the Choir in a full concert that was televised throughout Europe.
Each year, the boys perform 30 performances with Pennsylvania Ballet’s, The Nutcracker. This year the boys will join Peter Nero & The Philly Pops at the Kimmel Center for its annual Christmas show comprising of 10 concerts. Our boys recently performed as soloists in Mahler’s Das klagende Lied conducted by Vladimir Jurowski with Philadelphia Orchestra, and in Bernstein’s Mass with the Baltimore Symphony at Carnegie Hall.
